Making More Money with Your Own Content

For affiliate marketers, webmasters, bloggers, and others, writing unique and useful content is the primary way of promoting themselves, their products, and services online. Writing good content that gets readers, develops a following, or prompts a desired action takes time. This investment pays off primarily in the long term, with little immediate reward. For anyone striving to find success online, it's a quick lesson to learn, that efficiency and getting the most out of the work you perform is paramount. Many writers turn to sites that will pay them for the content that they write, such as Qassia. The payment is generally small, but like everything on the internet, the goal is to develop small streams of income at every turn. Such sites allow you to promote yourself, your site, and so forth, while you are also earning some additional income. In the past year and a half however, a new opportunity to make the most of your work has emerged. Social bookmarking sites that offer revenue sharing. Granted, the income generated is generally small, but it offers yet another way of monetizing your existing work. One of the best communities that I have used, is RedGage. Users are asked to share only their own content. For many, this is a welcomed relief from having to scour the web periodically to uncover other interesting items to share with their online friends. It's a welcome relief from having to worry about promoting your own content too much. Of course quality content is required, spam is not tolerated, but promoting your own work is not only accepted but encouraged and rewarded. Users can submit links to their articles, Squidoo lenses, Hubpages, blogs, documents, ezine articles, photos, videos and more. RedGage pays users per 1,000 page views and awards a number of bonuses for articles featured on the front page. There are also contests that make payouts based on a simple raffle which requires no more than your participation on the site. The contests include a $50/day, $150/week, and a $400/month award. Other benefits of the site are, the community, where you can meet and network with other online marketers, the ability to establish "do follow" links to your content, and increased exposure/traffic to your pages. Another social bookmarking site that offers a revenue opportunity is Tagfoot. This site, still in Beta, offers a close knit community and is run more like a traditional social bookmarking site. The aim of the site is to develop relationships, to build a repository of outstanding content from the web, and to allow users to organize their favorite links. Too much self promotion is frowned upon and spamming is not tolerated. However, users have the opportunity for AdSense revenue sharing. Once established within the community as a trusted member, known as a Profoot, users can apply for a 50% share in the revenue generated by visitors to the pages they have submitted. In addition, their links become "do follow", allowing them to further enhance their presence in search engine results. They are also granted a small percentage of the earnings generated by other individuals they've recruited to the site. Social bookmarking is an activity in which most successful internet marketers engage. Making the most of that activity, and squeezing a bit more income from it is smart business. |
